When Life Rolls into Roles

You can't be bad in the kitchen and expect him to be good in bed. After all, the proteins necessary for a long lasting ride in bed comes from the kitchen, so don't complain when he jumps out of the elevator in the second floor leaving you to get to the last floor alone. Maybe there wasn’t enough calcium in the food you served or probably he ate N100 fries as usual.
Life is all about roles, and every individual has his or her own role at every given time. You don’t blame the Director of a company for not opening the gate on time when your car drove in, unless he is also the gate-man. Same way you don’t blame the gate-man for not approving your proposal, unless he is also the Director.

You don’t expect a bus to arrive in Lagos before a Plane if both left at the same time, unless the Bus is a Benin witch, same way you don’t expect a plane to land at Oshodi Park, unless it crashed.
However we ought to learn how to stand in for each other, if his hands isn’t going into the right spots, you can lead him there and not pretend all is good when it is not, same way if she doesn’t know the right ingredients, don’t just conclude that cooking is her role, help her out, after all, the best chefs in the world are usually men.
We all have specific roles, but we need to work like a football team. You may not blame the defender for not scoring, same way you can’t blame the striker for not stopping a goal. However, you may wonder why people blame the coach and not even the players in the field of play.
If the defender is in a position to score, he doesn’t wait for the striker, same way if the striker is in a position to stop a goal, he doesn’t wait for the defender. Life should be like Wales Soccer Team, where team work and not names takes you closer to the trophy.
